Capitalism is wild because retiring did not always require that young people become financial savants forced to build a pile of income streams in fields they have no interest in. I do not care about retail stocks, index funds, real estate, or marketing but I sure gotta learn everything about all of that. Not cuz I think it’s moral, but cuz I bet that america isn’t gonna change by the time Im 60 and if I don’t I’ll die.
Like I was thinking about that when i was 16.
“If I don’t find a way to make good money forever I will die of neglect because this country lets ppl starve” has been a primary motivator my whole life. Suddenly NOT getting money saavy opens you up to victimization by a system that doesn’t care for you and you can recognize that’s fucked up, but still feel the need to push forward cuz the alternative is the whole “death by neglect” thing.
You’re perfect just the way you are. Truly. Every little piece of you put together creates a masterpiece. You are living art. Both inside and out, you are absolutely beautiful.
